The connection / Rehab to Performance

Return to sport. Return to performance.

Feeling better is a starting point. Rebuild the qualities your sport asks of you, with a plan that connects rehabilitation and training.

Your starting point

Sport asks for more than being pain-free.

Return to sport happens outside the treatment room. We consider the gap between your current capacity and the activity you want to resume, for recreational, youth, competitive and professional athletes.

  • Symptoms & response
  • Strength & physical capacity
  • Sport-specific demands
  • Training exposure
  • Confidence & readiness
  • Relevant objective testing

How we work

One connected pathway.

The pathway gives direction, with reassessment and feedback throughout. The pace reflects your starting point and your sport.

Rehab

Work on the symptoms, movement and capacity relevant to your situation.

Rebuild

Develop strength and the physical qualities needed for your activity.

Test

Measure relevant qualities and discuss what the results mean in context.

Reintroduce

Bring appropriate training exposure and sport demands back into the plan.

Return

Review symptoms, physical capacity, confidence and training response together.

Perform

Continue developing toward your performance goals through ongoing training.

Care & coaching in practice

Read the whole picture.

Useful assessment can include strength, side-to-side differences, jumping, force production, reactive qualities, movement and tolerance. The choice depends on the person and the demands ahead.

Measure what matters

Hawkin Dynamics, TruStrength, OVR or Lumin may support the questions being asked.

Interpret in context

Results sit alongside symptoms, sport demands, exposure and confidence. They are part of the decision.

Connect the team

Clinical care, coaching and appropriate professional collaboration support continuity.

No single test tells the whole story.

Testing does not guarantee a safe return or provide certain clearance. Decisions bring together assessment, your response, relevant medical guidance and the demands of your sport.

Your questions

A little clarity.

A few questions before your next step.

View all FAQs
Is being pain-free enough to return to sport?

Pain is one part of the picture. Strength, capacity, sport demands, exposure and confidence also inform the next step.

Does one test determine readiness?

No. Relevant testing supports the assessment, but no single score guarantees safety or certain clearance.

Can I continue into performance training?

The pathway connects rehabilitation with ongoing performance. Training is shaped around your capacity and the goals ahead.
