A little clarity / R&P
Good questions. A place to start.
Practical answers about our approach, choosing a service and visiting the clinic. If your question is individual to you, ask us first.
Getting started
What happens at the first appointment?
We listen to your goals and history, assess your movement and physical capacity, and discuss an individualized plan. Your clinician or coach explains the next steps and uses your feedback to guide progress.
Do I need to be an athlete?
No. Physiotherapy supports everyday movement and activity as well as sport. Performance coaching works with serious recreational, youth, competitive and professional athletes.
Which service should I book?
Physiotherapy is a starting point for pain, injury or rehabilitation after surgery. Performance training is for people healthy enough to train who want to develop their athletic capacity. If you are unsure, ask us first so we can help you choose.
Is care or coaching one to one?
One-to-one care and coaching are central to the R&P approach. Your assessment, plan and feedback are individual to you.
Rehab & performance
How do rehabilitation and performance training connect?
As your rehabilitation progresses, we rebuild the strength and capacity relevant to your activity or sport. Reassessment, training exposure and useful objective tests inform the next step. No single test determines readiness.
How do you approach rehabilitation after surgery?
Rehabilitation considers your procedure, medical plan and current capacity. We coordinate with your surgeon or other professionals where useful and adapt progression through reassessment.
Can testing guarantee a safe return to sport?
No single test guarantees safety or certain clearance. Relevant testing is considered alongside symptoms, physical capacity, sport demands, training exposure and confidence.
What ages is youth training designed for?
Typically ages 11–18. Younger athletes may be considered case by case, depending on maturity and the ability to follow instructions.
